Optimization of work at the quarry "Western" by Karelsky Okatysh JSC
In the economic efficiency of the open-pit mining process, it is important to optimize the costs of the purchase, repair and operation of vehicles, increase the life of the tires of dump trucks, and this directly depends on the quality of career roads for the construction of which crushed stone is needed.
Karelsky Okatysh JSC solved the problem of improving the quality of roads in the "Western" quarry due to a new crushing and screening complex with a declared capacity of 100 thousand tons of crushed stone per month.

A similar plant is already operating in the "Main" quarry, but its capacity is not enough to produce crushed stone for all career roads. In addition, the "Main" quarry is located about 20 kilometers from the "Western", and this is an additional cost for the transportation of crushed stone. Therefore, the company's management decided to build a new gravel complex in the "Western" quarry.

To do this, you need high-quality crushed stone, in connection with which it was decided to build another crushed stone complex in the "Western" quarry. “We have proposed a fully automated crushing and screening complex based on the Metso C106 jaw crusher and the Metso GP220 cone crusher, which allows us to ensure a consistently high quality of crushed stone. The rationale was based on the guaranteed achievement of the required technological indicators. The correct selection of equipment sizes, as well as the configuration of the plant, taking into account the operating conditions of the equipment, in particular the uneven supply, provided the existing need for crushed stone Karelsky Okatysh JSC.

Design features of the proposed equipment can provide high reliability and low operating costs compared to similar complexes:
- non-welded jaw crusher frame design can significantly increase its reliability in conditions of variable loads and low temperatures
- the same type of jaw crusher bearings are installed
- the principle of installing a cone crusher without the use of a compound significantly reduces downtime for refilling
- the cone crusher oil station uses a single type of oil
- hydraulic adjustment of the discharge gap significantly optimizes the operation of the crusher
“The management of the Karelsky Okatysh JSC, in the framework of the production development program for 2018, decided to build a DSK. We offered our long-standing partners a comprehensive project, including design, delivery of all DSC units, installation and commissioning, and most importantly - a guarantee of reaching the required production volumes on time. In May 2018, we signed a contract for the supply of DSC, and in November the complex began its work and plans to reach the declared performance in the summer according to the results of industrial tests. Installation and commissioning works were carried out by service engineers of Sever Minerals.

As a result, the crushed stone of the three fractions allows us to reduce the costs of Karelsky Okatysh JSC for mining equipment tires, as well as to ensure the livelihoods of the quarry in winter under slippery conditions and in spring during floods. ”
